The spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is being experienced through large community iftar gatherings at Hala Sultan Mosque in Lefkoşa, where around 1,500 people are served daily throughout the holy month.
Organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Lefkoşa and the Cyprus Foundations Administration, the program brings together citizens, students, and families from different backgrounds at a shared table, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood of Ramadan.
Senior officials, including Deputy President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs Dr. Hafız Osman Şahin, TDV General Manager İzani Turan, TDV Dormitories Director Muhammed Said Aslan, and TRNC President of Religious Affairs Hakan Moral, attended the iftar program and met with members of the community.
In addition to the iftar gatherings, a Ramadan Goodness table established in the mosque courtyard hosts activities for children throughout the month, allowing them to experience the joy of Ramadan.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Lefkoşa, iftar meals will be served to 227,000 people across Northern Cyprus during Ramadan through 17 fixed and 48 mobile distribution points.
The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, which carries out humanitarian, educational, and religious services worldwide, continues to strengthen the spirit of sharing and solidarity during Ramadan by organizing iftar programs in Türkiye and across different parts of the world.
