TDV to Distribute 45,000 holy Qurans in 21 Countries During Eid al-Adha

The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) will deliver 45,000 copies of the holy Qur’an to the needy across 21 countries as part of its 2025 Eid al-Adha campaign titled “One Qurbani, One Qur’an.” The project complements the foundation’s traditional Qurbani program by pairing Qurbani meat with copies of the holy Qur’an, especially in regions where access to printed Mushafs is still limited.

Donors contributing through TDV’s official website (bagis.tdv.org) can participate in the campaign by adding a symbolic 200 TL to their Qurbani donation, which will be used to gift a holy Qur’an to a needy recipient.

TDV General Manager İzani Turan highlighted the significance of the effort, noting that in many countries people still memorize verses from the holy Qur’an written on wooden boards known as “Luh” due to a lack of access to printed copies. “This reality increases our responsibility,” Turan said. “Since 1993, we’ve been delivering both Qurbani meat and the holy Qur’an to our needy brothers and sisters through our partnership with the Presidency of Religious Affairs.”

Turan added that since 2015, more than 2.24 million copies of the holy Qur’an have been distributed in 43 different languages across 94 countries. Under this year’s campaign, Qur’ans translated into Albanian, Azerbaijani, Bengali, French, Swahili, Portuguese, Chewa, Japanese, and English will be distributed in 21 countries.

He emphasized the spiritual impact of the initiative: “With your support, we will not only nourish tables this Eid but also touch hearts and souls with your offering of the Qur’an.”
