
Organized by the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV), the 10th International Student Symposium has officially concluded.
Held as part of the Foundation’s 50th anniversary celebrations, this year’s symposium was themed “Waqfs in the Islamic World and the Role of Youth in Promoting Waqf Culture.” The event was hosted in cooperation with Ankara University Faculty of Theology and Ankara Social Sciences University Faculty of Theology, and took place at the TDV Kocatepe Conference Hall in Ankara.
The two-day symposium brought together numerous local and international students studying across various cities in Türkiye.
A total of 24 students, including 13 international participants, presented academic papers during the event.
International students attending the symposium stood out in their traditional attire, representing their home countries. The event offered vibrant scenes, with students showcasing cultural diversity and unity through their national dress.
The symposium, a reflection of Türkiye Diyanet Foundation’s (TDV) educational support to students from 114 countries, featured several academic sessions under key themes such as: “Waqfs and the Youth’s Contribution to the Culture of Endowment”, “From Past to Present: Türkiye Diyanet Foundation”, “Waqfs and Social Responsibility”, “Waqf Activities and Youth”, “Waqfs in the Turkic World”, and“Examples of Waqf Initiatives Around the World.”
Each session was chaired by field experts and renowned academics.
The symposium concluded with a closing evaluation session, moderated by İdris Yavuzyiğit, Head of Youth Services at the Presidency of Religious Affairs. Key contributions came from: Assoc. Prof. Hasan Yücel (Ankara University Faculty of Theology), Assoc. Prof. Fatih İpek (Ankara Social Sciences University Faculty of Theology), and Esen Sezen Kılıç, Director of Education and Cultural Services at TDV.
The symposium concluded with the presentation of certificates, gift offerings, and a group photo session.
The academic papers presented by the students during the event will be compiled and published in a book.
