The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) launched the Ramadan program in Senegal in cooperation with the Turkish Islamic Union of Religious Affairs (DITIB).
Turkiye’s Ambassador to Dakar Ahmet Kavas, TDV representative Tarık Akkoyun, Secretary-General of the Islamic Development and Education Forum Mohamed Said Ba, and members of the press attended the opening of the program held at Selam mosque in the capital Dakar.
Speaking in the program, Ambassador Kavas pointed out that Senegal and Turkiye are siblings, saying that relations between the two countries are not limited to humanitarian aid only.
He said relations have a political, economic, and diplomatic dimension, but stressed that sharing is the most important dimension in relations.
TDV representative Akkoyun informed that during Ramadan, they will distribute 1700 food packages to the needy in different districts of Dakar and drill 6 water wells in the north and south of the country.
